Both the film and his performance were highly applauded by the critics. Directed by Ilankannan, the film brought Ravi success at the box office again. In 2009, he starred in Kadhalna Summa Illai, which was a Tamil remake of the successful Telugu film Gamyam. Ravi featured opposite Rekha Vedavyas in the film which was critically acclaimed. Ravi Krishnas next release was the bilingual film Netru Indru Naalai in Tamil, titled Ninna Nedu Repu in Telugu. Chandrasekhar's Sukran, opposite actress Anita Hassanandani, also sharing screen space with popular Tamil actor Vijay, who featured in an extended cameo. Following ∗G Rainbow Colony, Ravi acted in S. Ravi Krishna, before starting to shoot for the film, had taken a one month-training in acting at the Film Institute in King's College, London. Its dubbed Telugu version, ∗G Brindavan Colony, was simultaneously released to equal success, being declared a "Super Hit". Also, Ravis performance was recognised, fetching him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut - South for that year, amongst other minor awards. The film, released in October 2004, saw Ravi featuring opposite Sonia Agarwal in the lead and met high critical as well as commercial success upon release. He has revealed that he never intended to become an actor, but was "roped in" when he visited India for Easter. He later completed his diploma in Interactive Communication at Pentamedia, while also concentrating on his career in multimedia with non-linear film editing at Sam Media. Post schooling, Ravi Krishna went to London where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Multimedia.
